The Hunger Games

Hubbie and I saw The Hunger Games last night and I'm happy to say - it didn't let me down! Rarely is a movie anywhere near as good as the book, but not only did I feel the movie was faithful to the story - I think they did a great job with it! So, I'm happy to recommend you go see it too!

I'll second that. I'm just bummed that we have to wait till Nov. 2013 for #2.

Loved the books and can't wait to see the movie. I read somewhere that it was better to read the books first. I've read them but hubby hasn't. Should I take him? Can't I just fill him in on things he might not understand?

Definitely better if you've read the books, but fine if you haven't. For instance, hubbie asked "Why didn't they all just gang up and refuse to kill each other to spite the government" in relation to the small gang that formed. He didn't catch that some of the tributes lived in districts that trained their children for the Hunger Games from birth and that they were the ones who came out killing from the first moment.
