An important new event will be taking place at Hollins University this summer. It's called the
Kidlit@Hollins Symposium and the call for papers is now live.
The 1st biennial kidlit@hollins Symposium, co-chaired by Dhonielle Clayton and Lisa Rowe Fraustino, will focus on the theme of “Own and Other Voices.”
Invited keynoters include:
Grace Lin, author and illustrator of children’s books that have been awarded honors for the Newbery, Caldecott, Geisel, and National Book Award
Philip Deloria, Professor of History at Harvard University and author of Playing Indian
Sara Lissa Paulson, New York City school librarian, translator, and scholar of international children’s books in translation
Conference dates: Thursday – Sunday July 9-12, 2020
Location: Hollins University, Roanoke Virginia
Proposal Submission Deadline: February 14, 2020
