PhD: Some Light Reading - HA!

I thought you might find it interesting what I've been reading lately for my PhD. Keep in mind, my thesis/dissertation title is "Tricksters, Witches, and Warriors: Rewriting a Patriarchal Narrative in Children's and Fantasy Literature." It began with tricksters, which morphed into witches, which morphed into warriors - all results of patriarchal hegemony. Here are the primary texts I'm getting through right now.And since my thesis is practice based (I'm writing a novel alongside it), I am staying on top of examples of texts with tricksters, witches, and warriors in them. Here are some I'm reading right now.Of course, I also go off on tangents for various reasons. It's always a funny story how various books come into one's life. Some are for reviews or interviews, some are to put Scottish writers on my radar, some are to keep up with what's going on in the industry. This doesn't include the stack of picture books I have for potential features, or the twenty or so novels waiting for me on my Kindle, or the dozens of academic articles I've saved to my laptop, or the primary texts that I have already gone through and transcribed for quotes which I pull out to use in my thesis. (By the way, I use the words thesis and dissertation interchangeably as the terms are used in reverse for MFAs and PhDs in the UK and I can never remember which is which.) Needless to say, I am a reading machine. And it's all so fascinating, I am having a BLAST!!!!
