Here's another awesome breakfast with a panda bun filled with red bean paste.
One of the reasons The Kerry Hotel was a good choice is because it was attached to a mall and a grocery store - so I wouldn't go hungry. I loved the bookstore there, even if I couldn't read anything.
But I was sore tempted to purchase one of the bookshelf alley kits. I just didn't think I could fit one in my suitcase.
In the basement was the grocery store. Even that was different. They treated the produce like jewels. Here were the strawberries.
The cherries...
I wish I'd had time and the means to play with the mushrooms.
And I loved how they put smiley faces on the melons (or were they grapefruits?).
Of course there was so much to experience outside the hotel, which meant using my translation app to hire a taxi. Yes, there was a subway, but after getting through the airport and to the hotel, I knew the subway would be a challenge too many for me, so I went with taxis.
The first thing I noticed is that everyone in China drives scooters. They have a special lane except for the intersections that become a free for all with everyone zipping around!
