Being Creative

A friend and I were talking the other day about the crazy things we like to make other than children's books. And then there's Amy Timberlake's new blog Show and Tell Me. And it occurred to me that it's been a long time since I've just goofed off, messed around, created something just for the sake of making it.
The proof? I've gathered some photos of things I've made in the past, like puppets, dolls, gourds, bronze casting, etc. (See it HERE), and there just ain't enough there.
Granted, I gave a TON of stuff away. This was the last puppet of about a dozen I made, although I'm working on a stuffed version right now (well, this past winter).
But this is the stuff that keeps our juices flowing. Trying new things, and creating just for myself. I am going to try to make a concerted effort to add more images to this page - by making new stuff. So I says to myself. So there, Self!

Thanks for this post, Elizabeth, and the reminder that we do need to goof off and do something just for the sake of it the way we did when we were kids. Remember those glorious days? You've inspired me!
